Literature Text

"Hey Geki," Quori approached him at the beginning of their recreational period, "you know that key you always carry around for no particular reason? The one that Harkir tried to win from you in the tournament?"
    "Yeah, what about it?"
"I think I know what it goes to."
    "Really?"
"Yeah. I've known about it for a while, but I just now remembered it. One day when I was exploring the school, I found a really creepy door. There's a symbol on that door that matches the symbol on your key exactly."
Quori led Geki through the Academy's labyrinthine passageways until they arrived at a small, ordinary supply closet. Further inspection, however, revealed that this closet hid a door in its floor, and the two spiritcasters descended a ladder into a heavily cobwebbed chamber of dusty red stone. The sole feature of this chamber was a door, set into the opposite wall. This door was peculiar indeed, appearing to be made entirely of a thick purple fog but feeling like a solid wall of glass. This door had no hinges, but as Quori had described it bore the same symbol as the silver key, a crude depiction of a single eye, with a keyhole at its center. A sound could be heard from beyond the door, like a million beings screaming and lashing out in unison, and it was certain that none of these beings were human.
"Geki," Allowin, despite being made mostly of flame, began to shiver, "I don't think we should open that door. Whatever is inside there does not sound very friendly."
Quori's spirit, though silent as ever, seemed to agree, rolling into a corner as far from the door as possible.
"Relax, Allowin, I'm not going to open the door. I'm just going to examine my key, without even putting it near the lock, and see if it is the right shape for it."
But as Geki retrieved the key from around his neck, it seemed to him that the floor moved, causing him to drop the key. As he did, a hand of stone emerged from the floor to catch it before sliding towards the ladder. Geki and Quori turned just in time to see Harkir ascending it, key in hand. They chased him up the ladder, through the school, out the main gate, and into the city. They continued to follow him as he made his way to a rundown part of town. They watched as Harkir approached a seemingly empty lot, walking up stairs that could not be seen before passing through an invisible door.
The adventure continues. I will be posting something else later today to apologize for the short hiatus.
